Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Bayfolk handles when you play Epic Flight Simulator: Slop Edition or visit epicflightsim.com: how we capture it, how we use it, who we share it with and how long we keep it. We collect very little, and we never sell it.
Last updated: November 3, 2026
1. Who we are
Epic Flight Simulator: Slop Edition (the "game") and the website epicflightsim.com (the "website") are made by Bayfolk, an independent game studio ("Bayfolk", "we", "us"). Bayfolk is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@bayfolk.ca.
2. Data we handle
For each type of data below, we explain what it is, how we capture it, how we use it, who we share it with and how long we keep it.
2.1 Epic account ID and display name (game)
- What it is: your Epic account ID (a unique identifier for your account) and your Epic display name.
- How we capture it: automatically, when you launch the game from the Epic Games Launcher and the game signs in with Epic Account Services. If you start the game any other way, or play offline, the game does not capture this data.
- How we use it: only to link your achievement progress to your account, so your achievements can be unlocked and saved.
- Who we share it with: Epic Online Services, the service the game uses to record achievements. We share it only for that purpose. We do not sell it or share it with anyone else.
- How long we keep it: the game holds it in memory only while it is running. We do not store it on our own servers. It remains linked to the achievement records described in section 2.2.
2.2 Achievement progress (game)
- What it is: which achievements you have unlocked, your progress towards them, and when they were unlocked.
- How we capture it: the game records it automatically while you play, when you meet the conditions for an achievement.
- How we use it: to unlock and show your achievements. We also look at achievement statistics, such as how many players unlocked each achievement and which accounts unlocked them, to understand how the game is played, to improve it and to help players who contact us.
- Who we share it with: Epic Online Services, which stores the achievement records for the game. We do not share it with anyone else.
- How long we keep it: achievement records are kept for as long as the game offers achievements, so that your progress is not lost. If you ask us to delete your data, we will delete or request the deletion of the achievement records linked to your account.
2.3 Technical connection data (game)
- What it is: the technical information that any internet connection needs, such as your IP address, your platform (Windows) and the game version.
- How we capture it: automatically, when the game connects to Epic Online Services to record achievements.
- How we use it: only to make that connection work.
- Who we share it with: Epic Online Services, as part of the connection.
- How long we keep it: Bayfolk does not receive or store it.
2.4 Website server logs
- What it is: the time of each visit, the page requested, the result of the request, and, in the logs of our HTTPS server, your IP address and browser user agent.
- How we capture it: automatically, when your browser requests a page from epicflightsim.com.
- How we use it: only to keep the website secure and working, for example to stop abuse and fix errors.
- Who we share it with: no one, except the company that hosts our server, which stores it for us.
- How long we keep it: no more than 30 days, then it is deleted.
2.5 Web fonts
- What it is: your IP address and browser details.
- How we capture it: we do not. When a page loads, your browser requests the website's fonts directly from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com).
- How we use it: we do not use it. Google receives it to deliver the fonts.
- Who we share it with: your browser sends it to Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- How long we keep it: Bayfolk does not receive or keep it.
2.6 Emails you send us
- What it is: your email address, your name if you include it, your message and any attachments.
- How we capture it: when you email hello@bayfolk.ca.
- How we use it: only to read and reply to your message and to follow up on it.
- Who we share it with: no one, except our email provider, which stores our email for us.
- How long we keep it: for up to 12 months after our conversation ends, then we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
3. What we do not collect
- The game has no advertising, no in-game purchases, no chat, no multiplayer and no user-generated content.
- Bayfolk runs no game servers, analytics, telemetry or crash-reporting services.
- Settings, logs and screenshots that the game saves on your computer stay there. We only receive them if you choose to send them to us, for example with a bug report, and then we treat them as an email under section 2.6.
- The website has no contact form, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking cookies and no third-party embeds, and it stores nothing in your browser.
- The map of Toronto in the game is built from open data about places and buildings. It contains no personal data.
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Legal bases
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases:
- Achievements (sections 2.1 to 2.3): performance of our agreement with you, the EULA, to provide the achievement feature, and our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the game.
- Server logs (section 2.4): our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
- Emails (section 2.6): our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us, or steps you ask us to take.
We may also keep or disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our players, Bayfolk or others.
5. International transfers
The services we use, including Epic Online Services, our server host and our email provider, may process data outside your country, including in Canada and the United States. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
6. Security
The website is served over HTTPS. Only Bayfolk staff can access our server, our email and the game's achievement statistics. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the data we handle.
7. Your rights and deletion
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it;

8. Children
The game and the website are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy, for example when the game gains new features. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also announce it on the website.
