LegalEnd User License Agreement

End User License Agreement

This agreement sets out the terms for playing Epic Flight Simulator: Slop Edition. The game is free. You may play it for your own enjoyment, and the open-source and open-data parts stay under their own, more generous licences.

Last updated: November 3, 2026

1. Acceptance

This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is an agreement between you and Bayfolk, the independent studio that makes Epic Flight Simulator: Slop Edition (the "game"). By installing or playing the game, you accept this EULA. If you do not accept it, do not install or play the game.

You get the game through the Epic Games Store, which is run by Epic Games, Inc. ("Epic"). Epic's own terms also apply to your use of the store, the Epic Games Launcher and your Epic Games account. Epic is not a party to this EULA.

2. Your licence

Bayfolk grants you a free, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the game as distributed, for your own non-commercial entertainment, on devices you own or control. You may take and share screenshots and videos of the game, including in streams and online videos, including monetized ones.

3. Open-source and open-data parts

Parts of the game are released under open licences. For those parts, the open licence applies instead of this EULA wherever the two differ, and nothing in this EULA limits the rights those licences give you.

4. Unreal Engine and Epic Online Services

The game is built with Unreal Engine, which is licensed by Epic under the Unreal Engine End User License Agreement. This EULA does not give you any rights to Unreal Engine itself, beyond running the game.

When you start the game from the Epic Games Launcher, it connects to Epic Online Services to record achievements. This needs an Epic Games account and an internet connection, and it is subject to Epic's terms. Online features are provided by Epic, and we cannot guarantee that they will always be available. They may change or end. The rest of the game works without them.

5. Rules of use

Except as the open licences in section 3 allow, you must not:

These rules do not restrict anything the MIT License or the ODbL allows. For example, you may study, modify and share the MIT-licensed code under its terms.

6. Ownership and trademarks

The game is licensed to you, not sold. Bayfolk and the contributors keep their rights in the game, subject to the open licences in section 3. The names "Epic Flight Simulator: Slop Edition", "Bayfolk" and their logos belong to Bayfolk.

Epic Games, the Epic Games Store, Epic Online Services, Unreal and Unreal Engine are trademarks or registered trademarks of Epic Games, Inc. in the United States of America and elsewhere. Other names belong to their owners.

7. Real places

The game depicts real places, buildings, landmarks, airports and organisations, such as Toronto, the CN Tower, Rogers Centre and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. They appear for depiction only. Their owners have not endorsed and are not affiliated with the game. The depictions are generated from open data and are stylised, so they may be incomplete or inaccurate.

8. Not for real aviation

The game is entertainment. It is not a flight training device, it is not approved by any aviation authority, and it is not suitable for learning to fly, for flight planning or for real-world navigation. Never rely on the game when making real aviation or navigation decisions.

9. Health and safety

A very small number of people may have seizures when exposed to certain lights, flashing or patterns, even with no history of epilepsy. If you or anyone in your family has had a seizure or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing. Stop playing at once and see a doctor if you feel dizzy, have altered vision, eye or muscle twitches, loss of awareness, disorientation, convulsions, or any involuntary movement. Flight and camera movement can also cause motion sickness. Play in a well-lit room, sit back from the screen, and take regular breaks.

10. Updates and availability

We may update the game, for example to fix problems or add or change features. Some updates may be needed to keep using online features. We may also stop distributing or supporting the game. This EULA applies to updates unless they come with different terms.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information is involved when you play the game, including the achievement data handled by Epic Online Services.

12. No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the game is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. These include warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that the game will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will run on your hardware.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bayfolk and the game's contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. Nor are they liable for any loss of data, profits or goodwill arising from the game or this EULA. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the game, if any, or CAD $50, whichever is greater.

Your consumer rights. Some places do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or liability to be limited. Nothing in this EULA excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and for fraud. Nothing in this EULA affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

14. Termination

You may end this EULA at any time by uninstalling the game. Your licence under this EULA ends automatically if you seriously breach it. When it ends, you must stop using the game and uninstall it. Rights you have under the open licences in section 3 continue under their own terms. Sections 3, 6, 12, 13, 15 and 16 survive termination.

15. Governing law

This EULA is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the consumer protection laws of the place where you live give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts or to have your local laws apply.

16. General

This EULA, together with the open licences in section 3 and our Privacy Policy, is the whole agreement between you and Bayfolk about the game. If any part of it is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term, we have not waived it. You may not transfer this EULA. We may transfer it to whoever takes over the game. We may update this EULA; the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If you keep playing after a change takes effect, you accept the updated EULA.
